what are quad shocks?

i was looking at some koni shocks/struts and it said something in there about replacing the quad shock too..
i was confused b/c most susp kits come with 2 shocks and 2 struts

If you get lower control arms, you can go ahead and get rid of your quad shock. I doubt they are doing very much right now on your car, if anything. When you pull your rear rim off the quads are the ones that you see first. They attach from your rearend to your chassis. They run almost perpendicular to your shocks. In short they are pretty useless.
