10:1 comp, 17 psi, 467 rwhp 693 tq threw stock fuel lines = idiot and melt down. We had almost no timin in the car like 14 total degrees. We knew it was way to close to the edge 13:1 a/f on the dyno @ 95° temp. Take it to a track where it was 70° and make 3 passes without checking the plugs = idiot. Live and learn.....

Nope, was my mistake. 13:1 would of been fine, if I would of ran the car when it was still 95 outside. The cool air came in, and a/f probably went to 14:1 or worse. This was back in '99. I already had new fuel parts coming for it, was told it should be ok if I took it easy on it. Which I didn't.

Oh yeah, forgot to add. Later I had the injectors flow tested and #5 (which was the cyl that melted) came in at 44# vs 47# on the rest. The injectors where the 30# injectors mod'd to flow 47#.

sweet nice piston, I can fix it with some Bondo and a cake spreader :O)

Tony, you must like the LEAN side of AFR,hmm
Lean can make power, but like you stated running on the edge. :O)

Not what I wanted :) 11.3@116 car would fall flat on its face on the top end. Not only was the car on the fuel starved side. It was also on the restricted side. Had a box stock intake and 1 5/8 shortie headers on it. It made peak power @ 5100 rpms. Pulled a 1.58 60' launchin off idle.

Yup, went faster with a 302 and less boost and a lot safer tune.

sometime :) About to rip the holley ignition out. Car is acting up, won't ilde rev etc. Last time it did this, I bypassed the holley and it ran fine. Hooked it back up and everything was good. Think I'm gonna pull it out and go back with a plain jane MSD 6al. I just like the Holleys features :(

i thougth 11.5 afr was desired for boosted situations.

did you have a egt gauge? i would love to see the temps on that thing lol. ouch :wicked:

No EGT gauge :( 13:1 is on the edge, I was running 110 gas not pump. Pump gas, yeah you would want around 12:1 at least.
