Finally! Now, all she needs is a tune.

Underdriven crank + 4" blower pulley = 3psi @ redline, lmao.

Big thanks to Homer, T, and everyone else who helped, I really appreciate it.

3 tire-frying pounds of boost. 8) I say you stick the "steering wheel" on the crank, and a "bottle-cap" pulley on the blower.. that should be fun!

making less power now than before the blower install  at least its safe

Parasitic losses all depend on how fast you spin the blower. sure they take 50 or 60 horsepower to run, but thats at redline with with more than 3 pounds of boost.

Think of the ratio of parasitic losses / boost

We'll use T's estimation of loss coupled with my car's boost level as a comparison
It takes, say 60 horsepower to run with 10 lbs of boost.
60/10 loss/boost ratio . thats 60% efficient. If it took 0 horsepower to spin with 10LBS of boost, it would be 100% efficient. see what im getting at?

In jons case, we dont know for sure how much power it's added, but we can use the ratio to predict how much horsepower its taking to spin the blower. He's making 3 lbs of boost. With a 60% efficient blower, for example, The blower is taking approx. 18 horsepower to spin at full boost.

Im not sure exactly what the efficiency ratio of our prochargers are, so that estimation could be a lot more or less.

With his conservative tune for the stock mass air meter, its hard to predict how much power he's actually making, but I guarantee he's picked up plenty.

I picked up 239rwhp with 10LBS of procharged boost. Thats 23.9 horsepower per pound of boost with the parasitic losses already subtracted. I know, im comparing apples to oranges here, because he's got a 2V, versus my 4V, but just for comparison, lets say that a 2V will pick up 18 horsepower per pound of boost. thats 54 horsepower that he has gained with the parasitic loss of 18 horsepower already subtracted.

im bored today, ive got nothin better to do.

surely you're not leaving it at 3 psi.

what are you gonna do? put the stock crank pulley back on? or get a better blower pulley?

I want no boost now, nice and safe. I'll be putting the stock crank back on and see how that works, then maybe a smaller pulley when I go to JMS.

when the 388 goes in (something in the 248/254 .59?/.61? 110 lsa)
would like to go with a roller setup, but well see what happens

until then on stock displacement i dont need to, 420 rwhp should be easily obtainable with a set of heads, LT's, and duals

as for the 388 i should see mid 500 rwhp and torque
