Today we lost 50 pounds at least. More to come tomorrow when the sound deadening goes bye bye.

We lost:
A lot of air ducting behind the dash
An HVAC box
Two airbags
A heater core and a lot of ugly coolant line
A blower motor
Lots and lots of screws
Oh, when shall my plate arrive

Take out EVERYTHING between the motor and the seats, minus the steering column. Drivers bag is easy, passenger is under the inner dash, HVAC box is under everything.

X: It wont be my daily driver for too much longer. Silly to afford the MPG it gets, and I try not to hit shit when I drive, it wont be a race car. Yet. We'll see what happens when my loan goes through and the new motor can be put in,,, you know, I have to outdo whatever Bo's up to.

Gonna miss defrost the most.... but I wont mind every time I have to change tha back two plugs on the passenger side... there's like an extra 8 inches of room now.

I will never own another vehicle without A/C unless its *only* duty is track/racing. If I drive it on the street it must keep its A/C. I did the sparse interior/have only what is absolutely necessary thing before. I won't do it again, I'm just not that hardcore a racer I guess.

Hopefully I'll have a beater in a few weeks for the rainy days :D, but if i drive, the windows are down, so humidity can lick my nuts. Its funny, because without the dash in, I could do the back two passenger plugs from the passenger seat. :p

Remove starter. Get them from under the car. Use a spark plug socket with a box wrench, unless you have a fancy O-socket with a hole in the ratchet like I do. A little extra time to remove the starter, but worth it in frustration points.

maybe im the only one who thinks this way, but when you remove all kinds of stuff like that, can you really say you have a camaro that runs (fill in the blank) time? its more like you have a chassis that runs the time. if i ever run a time, its gonna be full weight that way there is no despute to what my car runs. its almost like cheating kinda? i dont know, thats just my opinion on it. nobody has to except it but its just another way to think about it. :shrug:

Cheating? :wtf: If it runs the time, it runs the time. If it was a backhalf tube chassis car thats something else entirely. Weight reduction, on the other hand, is your friend.

Im sorry but weight loss is not cheating. Its a free mod and ppl use it at will. Give me some traction and a decent driver and my old car would be right at 13.7 stock. Its not all about the motor LS1 or LT1. Driver has big part to do with it well atleast the 6 speed ppl. :flip2: :taunt:

Thats the funny thing. The car never ever had a problem when it was at the track or anything or when i was racing street or track. Just normal everyday cruising 50 down t-ville just got me. I dunno what was up :shrug:
