Spray paint it. It's not hard to do a good job on a small piece with rattle cans. Sand it nice and smooth with 400 grit, prime it, sand it again 800 grit, paint it, wet sand it with 800, then 2000 grit, buff it out, then wax it. Will look professional quality, but consider thats almost 2 hours time invested plus $10-15 in primer, paint, and sandpaper. Now ask yourself if that $60 is worth your time.

Im not sure it needs sanding, its brand spanking new, but I have time to do it (its not like the car's going anywere)

I dunno, any1 else

If its not painted, then you dont need to sand it prior, but you'll still need to wet sand it at least twice afterwards. I did my tailpanel with spray paint on a dusty concrete floor indoors in my basement, and it looks great.... just takes a lot of time.

Im going to keep calling around, other gp owners said they got theres painted for $20-30, and thats a price I can deal with, but Ill do it myself if $60 is the best price

ask what the warranty is cause for shop time and materials, $60 aint far off. maybe they will do it for $30 if you dont care about prep (and dont mind the paint peeling off).

The paint they'll use on it would be a better quality. You're better off doing it yourself. I used to work in a paint store so, you can get quite a bit of paint 15 bucks-18 bucks. A good ole pint or so, primer and all that jazz you can get from Ace, Napa, Discount. I dunno, I just used to work there, and know most of the body shops pricing, and know a few who'd paint for free long as they get a 12 pack out of it, lol.

If you go the route I would go, better have you a spray gun or two for spraying said paint. I do so eh..it's not so bad to kill a few hours. Based on your situation..start rattling those cans.

Also, might wanna consider prepping it yourself, then taking it to them to spray. I know for sure 8oz of paint isn't 60 bucks, even for the Spies they use.:P

Why not....

Buy it for 35 unpainted then get spray paint to match = 40$

You could probably even take it to someone local that would airbrush it and clear it for a lot less than that.

actually if you can buy a pint of some decent paint, I have a gun and will shoot it for nothing as long as you clean the gun for me afterwords (I hate that part). I aint the best but I painted my truck a couple years back and it is sticking pretty well 8)

Usually is, sometimes Mike'll answer.

Was it east, or west? You'd have a better chance going to west, probably cheaper too. I used to deliver to them so much, lol.

Call up and ask to speak to Mike. Say Robert from Finishmasters recommended you paint it.

I would just go over there, go back to the paint area and talk to him. When I first talked to him over the phone, he just told me he would "hook me up." When I asked how much, he said to just bring it in after I got it. He indeed did hook me up, but I never got a price out of him until I gave him my bumper.
