After about 9 hours (including breaks) we got Dave's headers on. At least 2 of those hours were spent trying to get the steering shaft back in. The headers are badass. Here are some pics:

Hooker longtubes suck. Flowtechs suck. Kooks are OK, pacesetters are a piece of cake.

well i don't think i'll be making it to the track sunday. tuffy's was giving me shit about not having cats so i said forget them. A friend of my dads owns the tire town and muffler on S. Monroe and I called him at home and he told me he would give me a deal on the welding and wouldn't care if i didn't have cats. So it looks like the duals are going on monday morning. But the car sounds fucking awesome w/ open headers!!!! :wicked:

You should get sound clips, with the open headers and after the duals are installed!

Yeah, I think that will be my first and last LS1 LT install. I can't wait to hear it though.

Just go to Tire Town and talk to Dave. Tell him Jeremy with the Regal sent you. You might still have time, lol. :kinson:

LT's on an LS1 arent hard. I helped with a set of JetHots and Grots. The grots pretty much jumped right in. The JetHots werent quite as easy but not all that hard. I need some LT's for my car. Im tired of my MAC's. Plus, now I have something else to put them on.

I was just there today getting a slow-leaking tire patched. I pulled up and some dude (young kid) came out and said, "Can I help you ?" Here's how the brief conversation went:

me: Yeah, what kind of wait to get a tire patched ?
him: (pausing and looking confused) What do you mean ?
me: How long of a wait is there until I can get my tire patched ?
him: (pausing again) $8.50
me: (looking very confused, but no pause) OK, fix it. :wtf:

I was half expecting some damn dueling banjos to start playing in the background. Odd.

I've been there before, though, and will go back again - they do good work. Plus there's a Burger King right next door !

9 hrs...weak!!! It took my buddy and me that long to put his Hookers on his SS a few years ago.....however it was the first time either of us had installed anything on an LS1.

Didn't have the car high enough off of the ground. Steering shaft is easiest if you remove at the pinion shaft. Bo and I had mine on and off pretty quickly when we did my heads, (the first time). Also the other trick is to take out motor mounts and jack up the engine, at least on an LT1 it makes it a whole lot easier. I have mine off right now, for the second go round with the heads.

the headers went in pretty fast and with a break we had everything except for the steering shaft. we also had the problem of not having the car high enough also. Take into account these were 1 7/8in primaries to 3in collectors so fitment was pretty tight around the body.

I'm just giving you guys a hard time. I know you all can probably turn a wrench a million times faster than me :)

Stepped? They look like 1 3/4 to me.

i think they might be stepped not sure but they are bigger than 1 3/4in primaries.
