I was leaving my friends yard and got on the street when I went to shift into 2nd, and it was just limp.
I can still shift the tranny manually with my hand by the motor. I was able to get it in first and drive it home.
Now I'm pretty sure its the shifter cable. Side to side motion is still somewhat there, but the forward backward motion isn't, it just slides back and forth like the cable wasn't connected
I took off the shifter console and both selector and shifter cables are both still connected to the shifter. The cables are also both still clipped in the mounted holder things. I looked back at the motor and everything is still connected but the shifter cables look a bit odd.
When I try to shift, the cables move alittle but only like a millimeter.
IF I manually put it in 2nd, then I can push up on the shifter in the car and it will shift to 1st.
So ya I think its the shifter cable. $139....ouch. Could be worse.
