I am gonna touch my car after all the shit that's gone down this week. Seems like everyones cars are breaking.... :(
Although Carlton said he would do my gears and stuff tomorrow....HmMMmm
I'm convinced someone stuck a CMR sticker on my car somewhere.

I figure with as much alcohol I drank it would probably be like race gas and keep that motor from detonating ;)

did you get your car put back together ok??
Greg Kulbick

Yes and no. Everything went back together, except the crank bolt. I had figured it was starting to strip when I got the bigger washer off my Steeda bolt and sat the pulley, it kept spinning and didn't get any harder to turn. It back out fine, but wouldn't get tight when it went back in. Then I put the timing adjuster hub on and tried to reinstall the longer bolt with the smaller washer and it would barely go into the crank. I couldn't tighten it, it just kept spinning. I could pull the hub back off the crank with my hands. The bolt was in sorta and I couldn't pull it out, but it wouldn't go anywhere. Hopefully Frank will be able to clean the threads up since according to his guy that was ooking at the car, the threads further back inside the crank are fine and there's plenty of them. He said the bolt took the brunt of the damage. If not, its going to need to be drilled. Hopefully I'll find out today

can't just get a tap and die set and fix it?
Greg Kulbick
06-24-2003, 10:35 AM
I don't trust myself with stuff like that. Crank is a little too vital for me to try my first tap on.

yeah, i don't blame you. it's too bad you had problems, i've only heard one other 4.6 in town with cams, but he's got a stock cat-back and it's not as clear. (the lope)

Isn't that the guy in PCB or Pensacola or something? That's far enough away. Would be nice if he came back into town whenever i try this install again after getting new cam bolts... wink wink nudge nudge.

The install of the cams may have to wait, I probably scared off everyone who helped. I don't want to run into any more problems either. Tearing off the front cover and all that was a pain in the arse. Oh yeah, the valve cover gaskets I got from Frod were wrong too, I had to put the stock ones back on. T, I'll come over tonight to clean up the mess I left in your garage, the tow truck showed up before I got a chance to.

Thanks Bo, I appreciate ya covering for me. I forgot about going over there tonight, so spent after work and class. I did talk to Frank though earlier. Its running, and running fine, except for an oil leak. I told him not even to tell me where it was leaking from because I already knew. Since I had the wrong valve cover gaskets, I had to reuse the stock ones. Of course it was about falling off and most likely got pulled off on the back side of the driver's side cover. Sure enough, leak is from the back on the drive's side. Frank is going to take care of that for me too since he has it. Maybe they'll actually give him the right gasket. Me and Ryan did a good job on timing that bitch, Frank says no rattle or knock at all. :D
