Man I was rebuilding my frontend the other week and the freaking Sears Craftsman 2-ton Jackstand almost killed me. The stands were placed on my chassis while I was replacing some bushings, the moment I step outside the garage, BAM hits the ground. Destroying my driverside control arm and cracking my brake housing (drums). I was so pissed. Raised some hell up at Sears. I'm now the proud owner of a brandnew set of Am Pro 3-ton Jackstands and Floor Jack. I will never again buy a cheap set of Jackstands. The I could have died part isn't as bad as replacing parts broken because of cheap tools. Be careful when choosing whats holding your car up people.

Damn, glad you weren't hurt. That's every amateur mechanic's nightmare. I guess redundancy should become practice.

hmm, kind of makes me weary of my craftsman jackstands...of course, I have the SUV ones, so maybe they will be ok holding my car up...
