Made a few passes last night at Cecil, Ga.
1st: Base tune a/f showed 13.8-14.0
1.731 60' 8.081@84.65 12.683@106.99

2nd run: Up'd timing 2 degrees and a/f was 12.8-13.1
1.730 60' 8.085@86.61 12.674@106.77

3rd run: same as 2nd cept 6000 shifts instead of 6500
1.697 60' 8.095@84.01 12.741@106.33

So then I took it to the dyno today:

It lost tq and hp threwout the curve till 6000 rpms :( The strange part is it still ran the same MPH I was running before the intake.

While Chris could ring some power out of it. I highly doubt that is the problem as the A/F looks good.

So what is the problem any clues or thoughts on what it might be.

Hmm Heads are not a bad Idea with that intake flowing so much better What about headers? Possibly to small now? Maybe time for high flow Cats?

Yup, u r reading it correctly. Loss of tq and hp.

Yeah, thinkin about headers. The heads might be overkill for what I'm trying to reach. High flow cats? hahah no thanks, I don't need any cats :)

After much thought and drinking (...opps) I say the problem is with the heads. Intake flows better but limit is now the heads. :mike:

I don't get why you would lose power though, we all know how much I know anyway, but wouldn't restrictions like the heads just yield NO gain rather then cause a loss?

if the a/f still looks good, and did not change very much, wouldn't that essentialy meen that no more air can be taken in, and all the extra flow is doing is, basicaly backing up?

This just screws my little security bubble all the hell up.

Tony, you are using the LM-1 wideband for live a/f readings correct? How do you like it so far? Did you purchase it with the RPM pickup? Im looking at buying one soon.

I can't say how it works stand alone (i.e. with thier login etc) I use my SCT Raptor to log it. So everything is in 1 chart. And its working great like that, cept for it didn't want to talk to the raptor yesturday on the dyno. I think thats just the quick wire job I did to interface them. I need to solder it. I didn't get the RPM pickup since I was going to be using it with the Raptor. I was very impressed that the kit came with everything you need to use it. Even the 9v battery. I got it from Summit for $349 same price as direct from LM-1.
