I am not talking about any extreme sport or anything. I bought a body shop. It took everything, (my wife and I), we had to get it done. We have been working on getting it for about 6 months. The deal has gone up and down several times. At times, we thought it was not going to happen. The shop has room for 8 cars in it, plus one for on the frame rack. The guy who we are buying the shop from built the building 3 years ago, and bought all of the equipment at the same time. The paint booth is a downdraft and is big enough to paint a semi truck. The frame rack is very nice as well. The whole property is an acre and a half with the shop sitting on the front half acre. The back half of the proprty is zoned industrial, so we can do anyhting we want with the property. I already have 2 insurance companies ready to put us on as direct repair facilities, so we are going to have plenty of work. here are some pics of the shop, and one of the paint booth and the frame rack.

We close tomorrow, and will be oficially open under the new name on Monday. I had a graphics designer come up with our logo, and it looks really cool. Here is a link to it:

abso-freakin-lutely. Anyone who needs anything done can contact me and we will work out a special rate. Actually, my car is the first one in the shop. I was leaving my father-in-law's condo in destin, headed back to G'ville, and was rear ended by a bitch not paying attention to the road. Good thing she had good insurance, (State Farm).

I wasn't exactly sold on the name "Quality", as there are alot of them around, (especially in tally), but there are none around here, so it works. Plus, my wife really like the name, so that is what it will be.

What brand paints will you be using? I'll be shopping for a repaint within the next 6 months, or so.

Congrats on the purchase!

As far as the paint goes, the previous owner had used PPG, so that is what I am using. As far as teh logo goes, I told him that I wanted something with flames and muscle cars, (I didn't even tell him that I had a Mustang), and he kind of took that and ran with it. He said he couldn't make the flames work, but I think this is just as good.

i need a paint job and some dings and dents removed coming this summer. there is a nice DENT in the driver's rear quarter panel (prolly need new panel), and nice ding on the tip of the hood between the headlights (might need new hood), some rust on the roof, some gouges(sp?) on the front bumper plastic, a few rust "bubbles" in a few places on the paint, and other minor dings on my 15 y/o baby. what do you think it'll cost to fix all that and give her a new coat of paint and clear? 2 coats of clear? i'm not sure this is enough for you to give an estimate but i'll try anyway. you can pm the estimate if you'd like.

I wanted to do that when I get out of the Army. Get some kind of performance parts/repair facility going. But my credit is lacking and that sucks. I figured it would be real complicated. Good luck with it man!

The shop is located in Newberry, (10 miles west of Gainesville). As far as estimates go, I really need to see the vehicles. I will get with you guys when I will be in T'town next.

ah... I was going to ask if you needed any help (i've read all the books I could get my hands on, but no hands on experience)...

but the drive to gainesville is a bit.

As anyone who has seen my car can vouch, it needs a paint job. I've just been fucked over by too many body shops (which is consequently why I started reading on how to do it myself). Oh well...

Congrats on getting it

Yes, that is Mike Durst's new shop that he built about 3 years ago. I am very excited about everything.
