I had a feeling that the growing number of different models would have a negative effect.

the government would step in and bail them out.

their problem is the lack of f-body

I think their trucks are what's been keeping them afloat for years anyway. GM's car lineup sucks right now. Except for these models: Vette, CTS, and Grand Prix (which is getting long in the tooth.) When the Kappa platform hits the sales will go up. That and when they ditch the front drive crap that everyone is going away from now.

Actually everyone EXCEPT for Ford. The Lincoln LS (the BMW looking rear drive with V8 available) will be going to FWD in about a year. Why I don't know, but from what I hear, Ford is going with FWD on upcoming models.

GM cars are not appealing to me at all. That's why when I went to buy a 4 door car I ended up with the honda. The grand prix trade in and resale value was horrible.

they are not going anywhere, they own Hughes Aircraft, that makes military equipment for the government, so Bush will save them :)
