Should took a pic, but I was going to put my head on today, and the motor was FULL of water, as in the entire crankcase all the way up to the intake. It was covered, hood shut, AND towerls. Amazing. Drained around 2 gallons of water BEFORE oil even started to come out... I have no luck. At any rate I cleaned it up and ran some oil through it and primed it and I think its okay. Weird though, theinside of my car was soaking wet too, and it doesnt leak... so I thought.

Hopefully itll fire over in the morning

Musta had a flash flood? The biggest thing you have to worry about is the bearings getting water on them if you prime it well before you fire it off it should be OK. once you get it fired put a can of sea foam in it and drive it long enough to boil out the water. change the oil and filter again and you should be ok.

Chris, Mark and I had the same problem on his car once. Craziest thing. The hood was closed and everything but somehow, water filled that thing. It gave us a crazy scare when we got it up and running and we found a watery leak under the car. Drained the oil and changed it a few times and everything has been fine since.

Don't sweat it.... run it for a little bit, make sure everything is ok (valve lash, etc) and then do an oil change. Get the engine up to operating temp and then drain the oil for at least an hour. You'll be fine.

Im not too worried, when I primed oil pressure returned to it so I think it'll be okay. Gonna run the first batch of oil and change as soon as it heats up, then again after a day or two.

if it rained with the motor open and the hood shut, the water can still get in easily. hose your windshield down with water when the hood is closed, then check under the hood, it'll be soaked.

Bo's right, same thing happened to me after a cam install. It took me two oil changes before it was completely water free.
