Thanks for the lead in. My ride is a 1993 Nissan Sentra with 136,000 miles that is about to bite the dust. It's totally embarrasing! But I've discovered the harsh reality that money does not grow on trees.

But here's what I'm thinking. I'm looking for a project car. I'd like a body that I can buy, and sink some cash into. I've looked back at the 1995 Mustangs, and the 93/94 Z28 Camaro's. I'm pretty new at the whole idea of modifying a car, but I am totally hooked!

So I welcome any advice about what to look for in a project car, and especially what to avoid. I want to buy something that can serve as a day-to-day ride, but can also get and go whenever I'd like. My budget is probably around 5,000 (say 1,500 for the body, 3,500 for parts).

Nice to meet all of you, and please send me lots of ideas on what to buy, and what to avoid.

PS - what do you think I could do with a 1993 Sentra? (joking...but not entirely joking).

WELCOME--for that cash you can find a good stang or fbody, but you do need to look hard for a great deal on a good car. remeber that 95 is the last year for the 5.0 in the stang and parts/mods are super cheap for that engine. the LT1 fbody will be the stronger of the 2 but are known to be difficult/pita to work on. and if you are seriouly thinking of getting into one of these 2 cars, i'd keep the sentra around for down days on the other ride.--just my .02

sstony -- I had heard about the 5.0/v8 ending in '95 on the stang...so seems like a good choice there, but on the Firebird...is there a year range to look at?

93+ on the f-bodies(firebirds and camaro's). after 97 they will tend to get more expensive and out of your price range.

The Ninety Eight is like a Maybach sans the curtains and the refrigerator. And it runs like a Ferrari. Brandon... cue Ninety Eight Picture!!

hahaha Welcome!! Get a 93/94 LT1 and just start from there. If you are new a modifying then you don't want to start with a shell. Get a car ans start with bolt ons and then work your way up. You NEXT car can be a major project.

You just added your pic into my quote. Listen, I'm sorry you have such a small internet penis. Just keep telling yourself it's the motion of the ocean, not the size of the wave.

Under most circumstances, and certainly this one, hearsay is not admissible. :owned:
