View Full Version : anyone know if 87 truck blocks are roller blocks?

Im out of town right now and i want to research a cam for my new motor, cant look at the casting number so i was just wondering if anyone knows if all 87 truck blocks are roller blocks or not. Thanks

for some reason i was thinking that some are and some aren't. I know all the 87 and up camaro blocks are supposed to be rollers. I just dont want to order the wrong cam.

well after some research i think its safe to assume that it is not a roller block, apparently in 87 some passenger cars had rollers, it wasn't till 88 that they were put in alot of different applications, including 3/4 ton trucks.

no trucks were not i worked for the general in 87 cars were thucks started in 88

IIRC some blocks are cast with the extra bosses and can be refitted with the hyd roller parts but not all (and with my luck not the one I buy :lol: )

also i believe the 87 truck has the one piece rear seal like the car block does
