My youngest daughter (2 years old), woke up around 10:00 pm crying. I went into her room to see what was going on. She was sitting up in her bed, so I picked her up and held her for a minute. I tried to lay her back down, but she wouldn't go. So, i took her to my room, and laid her down there. After I laid her down, I went into the living room and noticed blood all over my shirt. I looked myself over and there were no cuts anywhere, so I went back into my room and picked her up to look her over. Well, she had blood coming out of her ears. At this point, I am thinking the worst, (brain tumor or something). So, my wife took her to the E.R. After a 3 hour wait, the doctors saw her and said that she had ruptured an ear drum because of a bad ear infection. The weird thing is that she has shown no signs of having an ear infection. Our other daughter (7 years old) used to get them when she was younger, and she would have a fever, and pull on her ears. Either way, I was relieved that it was nothing serious. They gave her some antibodiotics and sent them home.
Dang, I'm glad she's ok. That would have freaked me out.

Thats Kool that shes aighty.
Ya got some strong kids. I would think that a 2 year old would be crying, and screaming way before the bleeding. Cuz them darn ear infections hurt!

I'm sure that's a HUGE relief that it was nothing severe. I would freak the fuck out if that happened to my child.

Glad to see she's going to be alright. No danger to her hearing I presume?

No, they said that the ear drum will heal itself. I was scared shitless when I first saw the blood on me. I was fairly sure I wasn't bleeding.

Glad to hear she's O.K. Went throught that with two of my boys, both had to have tubes installed in their ears when they were young. Before the tubes they'd get ear infections every other month.

My other daughter had to have tubes installed when she was 4 also. To top everything off, she has chicken pox. I am sure the 2 year is going to get them. I guess when it rains, it really pours. Thanks for the support everybody.
