What is it about driving a Volvo and living in Tallahassee that makes you think you're invincible? I'm doing about 50 on Cap. Circle heading towards Zaxby's and some people are making lefts into Chick-fil-A. Well, some idiot in a Volvo misjudges my speed and makes his turn. Well, I see him turn and I slam on my brakes and hold the horn. Mind you, no ABS makes for sucky sudden stops and I lock them up almost immediately. So here I am, doing 45 with locked brakes and the idiot is blocked in by traffic and can't go forward. Well, finally I stop about a foot away from him, smoke coming up from what's left of my brakes and tires. I drove past it on the way home and there's probably 50 feet worth of rubber sitting in front of Chick-fil-A, stopping just in front of the driveway. Then on the way back, some lady in a Volvo decides to cut in my lane. The next time a Volvo does something stupid in front of me, I'm hitting it, no questions asked.
