The name is John. I moved to Tallahassee in July 2003, I can up here with a 95 Honda Civic 5 spd. I traded it in on Oct. 2003 for a 99 Chrysler 300M. Now I wish I would have gotten what I really wanted... A fast car! I don't like automatics without some serious power. I miss the old 5spd Civic because I love to rip through gears. I am going to add some real muscle to my collection hopefully this summer. I must have a V8, RWD, Manual trans car. I need displacement! Soon I'll be hanging with the big boys! :kinson:

:wtf:

I think you would spend significantly more to make a 5.0 fast. In terms of dollars spent on mods, I think the LS1 wins by a long shot.

aren't mods for a 5.0 dirt cheap? there's nothing cheap about modding the LSx. i'm still impressed with wut you can do with a 5.0 with little $$, and the fact that the 5.0 went into so many different cars so there are plenty of replacement blocks available.

i was talking about the price of the car included into the total cost. to run 12's you will spend the same amount with an LS1 as you would for a 5.0. cause a 5.0 costs $2500 and the mods to get into the 12's are about $4-5000 which adds up to $6500-7500 (shit if you do it right you can break 12's with $3000 and sometimes even less). an LS1 costs $7500+ and mods to get into the 12's are about $500-1500 which adds up to $8000-9000. see you will pay almost the same amount to get equally fast
