Anyone know anything about renter rights? Since I lost my job in April I havent paid rent...which in my book is 2 months. The landlord came by today and said his records show I havent paid him since february!! Which is bullshit! I dont keep my receipts in which I know I should, but I didnt. But I also gave him something stating the problems with this place that needed to be fixed, some go as far back as October. Anyways he showed up today, and said I owe him 1300.00$ by monday in full, or hes starting the eviction process. He came by two weeks ago and said I owed him 650$ for two months which was true, then two weeks later it has more than doubled :wtf: Someone told me, If he knows about the things wrong and doesnt fix them, I can legally withhold rent. :shrug: I was doing that for the last two months, holding since he wasnt fixing. Plus I needed the extra cash for other bills. Anybody know how many days legally we have after he gives the eviction? If we stay that long, we trying to find a new place before then, that way when he comes monday, nothing will be here. Just incase your wondering, I have no lease on this place, he was suppose to draw one up like 8 months ago, and never did. His Bad. Any Ideas on what I can and should do? :shrug:
