Well guys, looks like I am in the market for a truck....
My question is, will the 5.4 motor offered by ford be enough to pull a light trailer with the coupe on it?
Or should I look at the diesel.
I don't plan on towing it very long distances, gainsville/Reynolds.
Thanks
q
Is it going to be your daily driver? the accord leaving?

accord will be history
i think the 5.4 would pull it just fine.
I still think you should get an older truck for cheaper. Do you really want to drive around in a truck everyday. Man I wish I had these problems. ;)

GET A HEMI!!!
I would say that the 5.4 would be plenty to tow the coupe back and fourth to the track. You better get a big Turbo Diesel just incase though.:P

F-150s are rated to pull 5,000. Of course thats the factory recomendation taking into account full cabin and stuff in the bed. It will pull much more.
I use to pull with my '87 Bronco 302 all over the place. Towed my car all the way to Bowling Green with it one year.

for that money you're better off buying an 03 cobra. it'll go 10's easily and still get you home from the track. 8)

If you dont have to have a new one, look around for a clean truck thats a couple years old. Im sure there is one out there that has low miles that was driven around by some 80 year old man back and forth to the doctor before he died or something. Just gotta look.:D

well right now, by the time all the incentives kick in, especially the financing, it's almost cheaper to buy new.
