Unreal what a 40mm cannon will do to a human from 2.5 miles away.

Zoom in a little, turn up the sound, and listen to the troops.

Seems kinda wrong killing the wounded..but hey..it is their fault.

Would you rather see the guy lay on the battle field and bleed to death. Seems more humane to finish the job. Oh, and I am pretty sure that's not a C-130. I would say that is probaly from a helicopter of some kind (Apache perhaps). It is staying relatively still for tool long.

It doesnt matter what i think. It matters what the geneva(sp?) convention says about it.
BUT..
Assuming the person was truely injured, yes, i would rather them be shot.
The insurgents, wounded or just acting lame, are killing american soliders when they come to aid them.
So, better he bleed to death or get shot again than a medic get killed.

I'm positive it is an AC-130. Remember, they're over two miles away - of course it's going to look still on target. You can tell what it is just by the targeting system. It would be pretty funny to see an Apache or Cobra try and fire a weapon like that - tail wagging the dog.

Not to be argumentative, but I am pretty sure it is a helicopter. Those look like 30 mm cannons from an Apache. If it were an airplane, they would have passed those enemy soldiers before the video is over. The video is like 3 minutes long, they would have traveled at least 10 miles, overshooting the target by a long shot. Plus, the aircraft seemed to be hovering.

I think it was long ago established it was an Apache.

That is in fact an AH-64 Apache. The 30mm shells on the Apache do have quite a range. I had always wondered why they never heard the helicopter in the hover (they were about a mile or so away). Had that been an AC-130, the explosions from the 40MM, 105MM or the 25MM guns would have been much larger. I love watching that video everytime I see it.

Look at the rate of fire on the diagram posted above. 100 rounds/minute (or fewer than 2 rounds per second). That's not very fast, especially when compared to the rate of fire in the vid. I seriously doubt that the aircraft was a AC-130.

The first part of this clip is an AC-130. Notice the size of the explosion....badass!!!!

we have them at our base and you can watch them they fly at about 20000 ft and go ever so slow almost on the verge of falling out of the sky slow
