LS1 Swap

One of my boys up here in Valdosta wants to place an LS1 engine into his 2000 Toyota Celica GT-S. He is telling me that it will run him about $4500.00 for the engine and to have it installed. Before he even starts spending money, is this swap even feasible?

I am sure that it is totally possible with any amount of money but with it being such a radical change like that I can see the shopping that is doing it having a hard time gettin that thing in there and running down the road.

absolutely no wire colrs, plugs, specs, or even remote thoughts are shared. you would get it in there and then quit becuase of frustration and confusion.

I saw a couple days ago a guy put an LS1 in his miata, thats badass.

LS4 would be possible... its meant for FWD... but again, CERTAINLY not for $4500. Would an LS1 even fit in there? And then without some awesome fabrication skills, there is no transmission that it will even easily and directly bolt to. The LS4 (from the Grand Prix GXP) was specially designed Gen IV motor for FWD, with a shorter crank, different block, and about everything else different.

If he is talking about making it RWD for $4500..... HA!

Yah, thats Will....lol. He wanted to get a Supra, but someone beat him to it. I don't want to see him waste shitloads of money doing something that very well could be impossible.
